There is an ongoing food incident at Allied Bakeries in Kent. Allied Bakeries, in Orpington, have reported to the police three incidents of what appeares to be malicious tampering – contaminating loaves of its Kingsmill bread.

It was hoped that extra security measures, including the introduction of tamper-evident packaging on the bread, had actually resolved this problem, but it would now appear that’s not the case. These incidents related to at least three consumer complaints about loaves of Kingsmill bread, contaminated in two cases with glass and in one case with a needle.

These contaminants were just under the wrapping and not actually in the loaves, indicating that they had been put in after the bread had been produced.

The bakery is located in Orpington, and the bread is distributed throughout the south east of England.

If any foreign objects is found in the loaves contact Allied Bakeries.
