Recall of Waitrose own brand ready meals - 25/09/2006

Waitrose has recalled two of its own-brand Oriental ready meals, after a packaging error led to them having incorrect allergen labelling information.
Waitrose has recalled two of its own-brand Oriental ready meals, after a packaging error led to them having incorrect allergen labelling information.

Product details:
  • Waitrose Oriental Banquet for two with 2 starters and crispy duck, 1215g

  • Waitrose Oriental Supper for two with spring rolls, 1166g

All date codes up to and including 27 September 2006.

The company undertook the recall as a precautionary measure because a number of prawn spring rolls were mistakenly placed in packaging meant for vegetable spring rolls.

Because the label does not show the correct ingredients or allergy advisory statement, the product could be unsafe for people who are allergic to shellfish.

For more information, see Food Standards Agency website.
