Progress of Sorts - 23/02/2013

Defra’s announcement that it intends to make microchipping of dogs compulsory in England from April 6, 2016, has been widely welcomed
as a measure that will help reunite lost or stolen dogs with their owners (See Veterinary Record, 23 February 2013).

VEGA says: This raises the question of all animals having to be microchipped or at least four-legged ones and it would involve much more care if it were rigorously enforced. It would be very appropriate if this arrangement was attached to animals like horses as well as cattle, sheep and pigs.
