Product Recall Notice - Farley's Infant Formula - 17/03/2006

Due to the discovery of cow's milk in Farley’s Soya Formula in 900g cans, Farley’s (owned by Heinz) has withdrawn from sale one single batch, with the best before date of 1 February 2008 and the batch number 607D.
Due to the discovery of cow's milk in Farley’s Soya Formula in 900g cans, Farley’s (owned by Heinz) has withdrawn from sale one single batch, with the best before date of 1 February 2008 and the batch number 607D.

This product is labelled as suitable for a milk and lactose-free diet. The level of milk found (500 parts per million (ppm)) could cause a reaction in babies who are allergic to milk. Farley’s has launched a full investigation and has also initiated further quality and testing procedures.

Around 500 cans are affected but Farley’s has withdrawn the whole batch. If you have used this batch of the formula and if your baby is allergic to or intolerant of cows' milk and dairy products you should stop using it and contact Farley’s on 08000 151 557. Only 900g cans with the best before date of 1 February 2008 and the batch number 607D are affected.

The World Health Organisation recommends that mothers breastfeed their babies for the first 6 months. However, parents or carers may choose to use soya formula for a number of reasons.

Vega is currently researching infant formulas and further news will be added to our newspage.
